Students with Master degree in basic sciences, e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics will be admitted for Doctoral Programme under the guidance of faculty members of NISER.
The students will be required to take 6 courses (or more depending on counseling). They will also be required to take qualifying written and oral comprehensive tests and candidacy examinations before submitting the thesis. The thesis will be examined by external reviewers. It has to be publicly defended and then candidate will be declared successful before award of the Ph.D. Degree.
