Summer Project Programme
The School of Computer Sciences (SCPS), NISER conducts Summer Research Programme for highly motivated students to learn advanced topics in the areas of Cryptography, Distributed Computing, Graph Theory, Algorithms and Cyber Security. Selected students will have the opportunity to interact with the faculty members of the school during the summer vacation of NISER, that is, during the period May 3rd week to July 3rd week.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students currently studying in their Integrated M.Sc./Bachelor/Master degree program with consistent good academic record are encouraged to apply.
Application Procedure:
First of all, the student needs to contact the faculty member of SCPS with whom he/she wants to work. Please remember to contact with the concerned faculty only after going through his or her profile. The contact should be initiated by a project proposal on what the student wants to do for the summer and how it aligns with the area of interest of the concerned faculty. If the faculty member agrees to guide him/her depending on his availability, then the student needs to send the scanned copy of the filled-in application form together with his/her CV [Merge them into a single pdf file] through email to the concerned faculty member by 1st March.
Further Information:
- The duration of the programme is at least for 8 (eight) weeks, and is to be decided depending on the availability of the mentor and the student.
- Selected students will be paid round trip second class sleeper train fare and a token amount for per-diem.
- Every effort will be made to provide accommodation (on nominal payment basis) in the student's hostel subject to availability.
- Accommodation may not be provided for local students.
- The list of the selected candidates will be made available in the SCPS website by 31st March.
- If an applicant is selected for Summer Project Programme, then the original application form and a signed copy of the CV needs to be submitted in the SCPS (SMS) office during his/her visit to NISER.
- At the end of the programme, the student needs to submit a project report in the SMS office approved by his/her supervisor to get the project completion certificate and the financial benefits, if any.
