Title
Racks and Knots
A rack is a set with a binary operation that satisfies properties similar to the conjugation operation in a group. Racks appeared in the context of knot theory as complete invariants. We will show how to extend the notion of racks for knots which satisfy a certain differential relation. These are known as Legendrian knots. This yields new invariants of Legendrian knots. This is a part of an ongoing work with T. V. H. Prathamesh. The talk will be a self-contained and a treat for those who like to visualize knots in 3-space
